During my time living in the Albaicín quarter as part of an artist residency, I was drawn to its atmosphere—a place where time seems to slow, and history lingers in the air. As one of Granada’s oldest districts, Albaicín was once the heart of Moorish Granada, and its architectural heritage still reflects that era.

Dating back to the 11th century, the neighborhood’s labyrinthine streets and Islamic influences create an atmosphere that feels both timeless and deeply rooted in history. Through my brushwork, I sought to evoke the essence of this remarkable place, where light and shadow dance across ancient walls, and every corner holds a story.
